Every session is hands-on — students build, test and iterate instead of sitting through lectures.
The WorldSkills Barbados Juniors Future Skills Camp is an early-intervention initiative that gives young people ages 10–16 the opportunity to explore the technologies and skills shaping the future of work. Through hands-on, expert-led training, campers build, code, design, create and solve practical challenges while discovering new interests and future education and career pathways.
Launched in 2021, the Camp has grown from a five-day programme into a summer-long learning experience, introducing hundreds of young people to future-focused technical and digital skills.
The tools, jobs and industries that will define the next decade barely exist today. The Future Skills Camp prepares young people for that shift, not with theory, but with hands-on practice in the technologies already reshaping the world.
Every activity is built on international WorldSkills standards, giving students an early introduction to the skills that industries are actively looking for.
Every session is hands-on — students build, test and iterate instead of sitting through lectures.
Built around the technologies and disciplines shaping tomorrow’s workforce.
No experience required — every skill area starts from the fundamentals.
Activities modeled on real WorldSkills competition standards and pathways.
Every student leaves with a finished project they made themselves.
Skills earned are recognized with shareable, verifiable digital badges.
A verified, shareable credential proving a student has demonstrated a specific skill, tied to real standards, not just a certificate of attendance.
Students earn one badge per skill area completed. Badges can be shared on school applications, social profiles and portfolios as early proof of what they can do.
